Eating away at the environment

It’s April. Spring is in the air and our thoughts turn to Earth Day, as they have each year since April 22, 1970, when the first Earth Day was celebrated in San Francisco. It is our day to increase our awareness and appreciation of the environment. Over the years, we have learned about actions we can take on behalf of the environment, such as recycling, avoiding chemicals on our lawns, and driving less. Most of us already do these things. When April 23 arrives, we’ve moved on to something else.
